The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Grade Crossing Safety and Railroad Trespass Prevention Workshop is a yearly summit designed to identify existing and emerging technology used to mitigate, reduce, and ultimately eliminate highway-rail grade crossing and trespasser incidents.
Another overarching goal is to raise awareness of the dangers and effects of highway-rail grade crossing and trespasser incidents, to seek out low-cost solutions, and to discuss practicable ideas for technological improvements for vehicular and pedestrian safety at highway-rail grade crossings.

This year, WGI was a proud sponsor of the
NCDOT event that was held on November 1-3 at
NC State University in Raleigh, NC. WGI’s sponsorship of daily parking fees (in a
WGI-designed parking deck) made this event hospitable and memorable for all attendees throughout the 32 presentations and 42 presenters from varying rail industry subject matter experts.

Additionally, Florida had a significant presence with 30 attendees, including 9
FDOT members, 2 West Palm Beach Sheriff’s Deputies, and a Broward County Deputy along with two
Brightline executives, one of which presented.
