Parking requirements for development in the City of Austin are based upon the proposed specific land use. For an office or administrative activity, the parking requirement is 1 space for every 275 square feet of building area.
Other parking related provisions to be considered are:
- Sites with more than 12 spaces may designate up to 30 percent of the parking for compact vehicles.
- Accessible parking spaces are required per the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).
- Special parking provisions apply for sites zoned Central Business District (CBD), Downtown Mixed Use (DMU), Reductions in Urban Core, and Central Urban Redevelopment (CURE) districts.
- Loading space and bicycle parking spaces may be required.
