DUBOIS PACKING PLANT CONTAMINATION ASSESSMENT
Boynton Beach, FL
To support a property transaction, a contamination assessment was conducted for this 33-acre parcel. The property included an inactive vegetable packing plant, equipment repair shops, a gasoline and diesel fueling station, storage tanks, discarded drums and containers, a wastewater seepage basin, agricultural fields, and several support buildings. Soil and groundwater sampling were conducted around the three 10,000-gallon underground fuel storage tanks and the associated pumps and piping. In addition, soil was evaluated around an above-ground waste oil storage tank, and the agricultural fields’ soils were sampled for arsenic. Arsenic was present in one location; the hot spot was delineated for soil excavation and removal, and technical oversight of the remediation was conducted.
