I-95 AT ST. AUGUSTINE
Duval County, FL
A safety study revealed significant traffic queues along Old St. Augustine Road and the I-95 ramps. The most significant queue was along the southbound exit ramp, which extended almost to the end of the existing storage/deceleration lane.
To alleviate the traffic issues, this safety project consisted of widening the I-95 southbound loop ramp at St. Augustine Road to accommodate the dual left turn and required a concrete barrier wall between the southbound exit ramp and the southbound entrance ramp. The project also included widening of mainline I-95 to provide for northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes from I-295 to Old St. Augustine Road
