WANTMAN GROUP, INC. HELPS FIGHT HUNGER AT FEED PALM BEACH COUNTY DAY
Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) associates proudly participated in the inaugural Feed Palm Beach County Day to help disadvantaged children and families. A team of WGI volunteers were among dozens at Gaines Park in West Palm Beach who spent the day packaging more than 50,000 meals.
The food will be distributed by the Palm Beach County Food Bank, Gaines Park food pantry, and five West Palm Beach-area elementary schools.
The first Feed Palm Beach County Day was organized by the West Palm Beach Rotary Club, which raised approximately $13,500 for bulk supplies that volunteers split and packaged into bags. The food will help the PBC Food Bank provide meals to agencies from Boca Raton to Tequesta, and west to Belle Glade and Pahokee. The Egret Lake, Gold Coast, Meadow Park, Pleasant City and Wynnbrook elementary schools will use the food to serve students in need. Food Bank statistics show six out of every 10 kids in Palm Beach County qualify for free or reduced price lunches.
“WGI is proud to support this worthwhile effort to fight hunger in Palm Beach County,” said David Wantman, PE, president of WGI. ”Sadly, far too many children and families in our communities struggle to get enough food each day, and the impact is felt in our schools and everywhere in our communities.”
As a multidisciplinary consulting firm, WGI has six offices throughout Florida and is comprised of eight separate divisions devoted to the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Planning services.
