WANTMAN GROUP, INC. SELECTED BY FDOT – DISTRICT 1

February 2012

WGI was selected by Florida’s Department of Transportation (District 1) to provide professional engineering, survey and environmental services for a $35 million project on SR 710 in Okeechobee County, Florida.

(West Palm Beach, FL – February 2012) Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) is pleased to announce their selection by Florida’s Department of Transportation (District 1) to provide professional engineering, survey and environmental services for a $35 million project on SR 710 in Okeechobee County, Florida. The project will provide 3.86 miles of new alignment for SR 710 from US 441 east to the L-63N Canal. The primary objective for the new alignment is to alleviate traffic at the heavily congested intersection of SR 710 and SR 70, thereby providing a truck by-pass at this busy intersection. WGI staff have considerable experience with new alignment projects across the state, including the Western Beltway, the Suncoast Parkway, the Veterans Expressway and the Polk Parkway. Comprehensive services, including Project Management, Roadway Design, Utility Coordination, Environmental Permitting, Signing and Pavement Marking Design, Lighting Analysis, Survey and R/W Mapping, will be provided.

“Providing this new alignment will result in a safer and more efficient roadway system in this area of Okeechobee County. Investments in transportation infrastructure positively affect the economy by fueling job creation and reducing travel times. This project reflects the FDOT’s commitment to maintain and improve our infrastructure and we are pleased to partner with District One,” said David Wantman, President of WGI.

As a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, WGI has offices throughout Florida and is comprised of eight separate divisions devoted to the following disciplines: Civil, Municipal and Transportation Engineering, Surveying, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Planning services. WGI has been recognized for four consecutive years on The Zweig White Hot Firm List. The list contains 200 of the fastest–growing architecture, engineering, planning and environmental consulting firms in the country. The South Florida Business Journal recently ranked WGI number 14 on the “Top 25 Largest Engineering Firms in South Florida” list.
