(West Palm Beach, FL – September 2013) Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) is pleased to announce their selection by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Central Office to provide project management, professional engineering design, environmental, survey, utility and permitting services for the Motor Carrier Size and Weight (MCSAW) Office. The project, officially called Motor Carrier Size and Weights Consultant, consists of a 5 year/$5 million consulting contract to support the State with upgrades to existing truck weighing facilities and/or the relocation or replacement of these facilities. The MCSAW Office operates and maintains a number of truck weighing stations and miscellaneous facilities aimed at the enforcement of weight limitations on Florida’s roadway system. Many of these facilities are in need of renovation, replacement or relocation, which could include conventional static scales or new weigh-in-motion scale technology that will be deployed over the next 5 years. WGI staff has considerable prior experience with these facilities across the state, including significant projects on I-95 and I-4.
“We are pleased to once again partner with FDOT. This team’s qualifications, experience, and depth of resources make us uniquely qualified to be successful on this project. We look forward to assisting the MCSAW with new technologies and approaches that will make our highways safer.” said David Wantman, President of WGI.
WGI has consistently worked with the FDOT for over 40 years. As a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, WGI has six offices throughout Florida and is comprised of seven separate divisions devoted to the following disciplines: Civil/Municipal and Transportation Engineering, Surveying, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Planning services. WGI has been recognized for four consecutive years on The Zweig White Hot Firm List.
