(West Palm Beach, FL – November 2013) Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) is pleased to be selected by All Aboard Florida to provide land surveying and utility designation services for 2 major railroad passenger stations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Florida East Coast Industries (FECI) is building an independently owned intercity passenger rail service to be utilized by millions of Floridians and tourists. In order to meet a very difficult schedule, and keep field personnel safe, WGI will utilize the latest technology, including GPS to set high accuracy control points throughout the proposed area and utilize their laser scanning technology to “scan” improvements within the railroad right-of-way. These technologies assist in keeping survey personnel out of the railroad right-of-way and safe from moving trains. Underground utilities will be marked by WGI utility designating crews and combined with visible locations to create a comprehensive “3D-picture” of all improvements.
“It is an honor to be working on this project that will change the way Floridians travel throughout the state,” said David Wantman, PE, President of WGI.
As a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, WGI has offices throughout Florida and is comprised of eight separate divisions devoted to the following disciplines: Civil, Municipal and Transportation Engineering, Surveying, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Planning services. WGI has been recognized for four consecutive years on The Zweig White Hot Firm List. The list contains 200 of the fastest–growing architecture, engineering, planning and environmental consulting firms in the country. The South Florida Business Journal recently ranked WGI number 8 on the “Top Engineering Firms in South Florida” list.
