On the heels of its recent win for I-75 Segment “C” express lanes project, Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI), in association with Ranger Construction Industries (Ranger), is pleased to announce its selection by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 to provide design-build services for the I-75 Segment “D” express lanes project.

Whereas the $85 million Segment “C” project spans 3.6-miles from Miramar Parkway to Sheridan Street, Segment “D” will add express lanes on I-75 from Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road including reconstruction of the Sheridan Street interchange. This 3.7-mile segment is one in a series of five major projects on I-75. Segment D’s primary goal is to provide express lanes in the I-75 median, provide ingress and egress points for both northbound and southbound traffic from/to the new express lanes. WGI will lead the Design Team for this $80 million segment that is a critical component of overall improvements to the corridor in both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

“We are pleased to once again partner with District 4 and with Ranger,” said David Wantman, PE, President of WGI. “Ranger and FDOT have been our partners for decades and their trust in WGI on this significant project is a testament to our entire team’s commitment to deliver. Express Lanes are a recognized and proven method to aid traffic management by introducing congestion pricing that creates new options for transportation agencies and motorists. With decreased funding, increased congestion, and constrained corridors, express lanes are a viable, cost-effective option to improve mobility and enhance economic development.  We are excited to be the lead design partner on two of the five I-75 express lane segments and look forward to a successful delivery”

WGI has consistently worked with the FDOT for over 40 years. As a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, WGI has six offices throughout Florida and is comprised of eight separate divisions devoted to the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Planning services. WGI has been recognized for four consecutive years on The Zweig White Hot Firm List. The list contains 200 of the fastest–growing architecture, engineering, planning and environmental consulting firms in the country. The South Florida Business Journal recently ranked WGI number 6 on the “Top 25 Engineering Firms in South Florida” list.
