WGI, a national design and professional services firm leading in technology-based solutions for the construction of public infrastructure and real estate development, is set to debut a new logo in the coming weeks.

With nearly 600 professionals in 19 offices in eight states, serving an active client base in over 30 states, WGI specializes in the following disciplines: land development/municipal engineering, traffic and transportation engineering, parking solutions, geospatial services, subsurface utility engineering, structures, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, architecture, land planning, MEP engineering, and creative services.

“WGI is taking our brand positioning to the next level,” says Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer Will Schnier. “We’re refreshing the style of our traditional logo with a new design reflecting a more contemporary and engaging format.”

Founded as Wantman Group in South Florida in 1972, WGI grew from a private client base and diversified into the public sector by growing its expertise, bringing talented professionals onboard, and making strategic acquisitions. It was during a time of planned  growth between 2014 and 2016, when Wantman Group acquired land planning and landscape architecture firm, Land Design South, and structural engineering firm, Bridge Design Associates; expanded its leadership team; opened new offices in Broward and Miami-Dade counties; and started an internal Creative Services division, that it re-branded the firm as WGI.

By 2017, WGI met its next strategic goal and became a national firm through the acquisition of parking planning, restoration, and design firm Carl Walker, expanding its footprint into Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, and North Carolina. WGI kicked off 2019 with the acquisition of Austin, Texas-based BIG RED DOG, adding to its Texas market presence with five locations in the state and a gaining a team with a reputation as disruptors in the profession, and further affirming its national trademark: Tomorrow’s Technology Today.

In 2019, Engineering News Record ranked WGI #224 – up 26 places — on its list of the Top 500 Design Firms, #25 on its Top Southeast Design Firms, and #10 in the Florida market. South Florida Business Journal ranked WGI #3 (up from #5) on its 2019 Top 25 Engineering Firms. The Zweig Group ranked WGI #23 on the 2019 Best Firms to Work For and #76 on its 2019 Hot Firms list.
