WILL STEWART JOINS WGI AS NORTH FLORIDA WATER RESOURCE LEADER
WGI is pleased to announce that Will Stewart, PE, CFM has joined its Transportation Division as North Florida Water Resource Leader for the Jacksonville and Tallahassee offices, as well as serving as the Jacksonville Office Manager.
Will has more than 39 years of experience in engineering in both design and construction inspection. He began his career with the FDOT in construction and drainage working in District 2, moving later to the Central Office. His areas of expertise include drainage design, stormwater management, PD&E, project management, and marketing and design of major and minor projects for FDOT, county governments, private clients, and various agencies and municipalities throughout Florida.
“Will has worked for FDOT in virtually the entire state of Florida – an incredible asset to WGI’s Transportation Division,” said David Wantman, PE, president of WGI. “In addition, his experience includes work for smaller public entities and private clients, so we are lucky to have someone so well versed in this type of work, as well as in the management and client relations needed to provide superior customer service.”
Will has a wide range of experience on numerous roadway and water resource projects throughout Florida, from solving local flooding issues to drainage for large design-build projects. He has managed a total of nine FDOT Districtwide Drainage contracts in Districts 5, 1, and 4. His specific experience is in highway drainage design, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, water quality, permitting, and minor roadway projects. He has a strong background in management, client relations, and project administration.
Will enjoys teaching highway drainage design and mentoring junior engineers. His FDOT experience, FDOT drainage expertise, and team first attitude is a perfect complement to WGI’s growth and success.
