WGI served as Owner’s Representative to Baptist Hospital of Miami and provided a variety of design and consulting services related to the hospital’s expansion. Specifically, WGI completed a campus-wide parking supply and demand analysis to identify parking needs for the expanded hospital. This study informed an overall Parking Master Plan to address future growth, including identifying the need for additional structured parking. WGI then designed temporary parking and signage solutions to accommodate traffic and parking during construction of the new bed tower.
Following the planning efforts, WGI assisted the hospital with the design of Parking Garage No. 5 and its solicitation to design-build teams. The 3-bay, 7-level garage in the heart of campus provides 1,000 parking spaces for doctors, hospital staff, and visitors. A pedestrian bridge connects Level 3 of the garage to the bed tower and emergency department. The garage is designed to accommodate tow trucks, service vehicles, and shuttle vans throughout all floors. WGI prepared bridging documents and provided ongoing guidance to the hospital during solicitation of design-build teams and throughout construction.
