The City of Boca Raton’s Fire Station 6 was demolished in February 2020 and the new facility took 11 months to build. The $5.2 million station features new and improved upgrades, including four apparatus bays that will house a new engine truck, medical unit, and two hazmat trucks, eight unisex bathrooms to facilitate the decontamination of all crew members at the same time in accordance with the national effort to prevent Firefighter cancer (“Shower Within an Hour”), and constructed to withstand sustained wind speed of 157 mph (Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale).
