WGI conducted a drainage analysis to confirm the capacity of the Heroes Memorial Pond to contribute to the Uptown Plum Creek district under fully developed conditions and avoid future adverse impacts. The park features include a Heroes Walk, Education and Information feature, Arrival Portal, Memorial Garden, and Activity Lawn. Hays County service members killed in action date to World War I, per Hays County Veterans Services. The memorial park honors veterans, first responders, and other community heroes. This is an approximately 4.87-acre memorial park, and the project consists of improving the drainage facility for optimal storm control and utilization as a city park. The project includes necessary site improvements for access, utility services, grading and drainage improvements, and environmental protection. The project was made possible through generous
donations from the Texas Disposal Systems and the support of Kyle City Council and Kyle TIRZ #2 Board members.
