A 330-space parking structure is currently being built as part of the Clay Commons mixed-use development, featuring condominiums, office space, retail, a banquet hall and a 105-room boutique hotel in downtown Louisville.
The Henry Clay garage will serve the development and employees of nearby Kindred Healthcare, Inc., a healthcare services company.
The Parking Authority of River City (PARC) will buy the parking structure component from the developer, City Properties Group, upon its completion. With the responsibility for long-term maintenance and operations, PARC retained WGI to provide design criteria, construction document review, and construction administration assistance.
WGI ensured that the structure’s design considered function, operations and performance with respect to maintenance, future repairs and service life. In addition, PARC required assistance in monitoring the progress and quality of construction and ensuring that the structure is constructed in conformance with the final design drawings.
