Pasco County engaged WGI to perform a feasibility study of permitting a new boat ramp along the Pithlachascotee River in New Port Richey. The investigation identified relevant regulatory authorities and permits required for several concepts of the boat ramp facility. WGI met with the Southwest Florida Water Management District and the US Army Corps of Engineers permitting staff to discuss permitting strategies and options. WGI prepared conceptual options and summarized permitting requirements for each and the time frame involved. WGI researched past sovereign submerged lands associated with the adjacent river and if a lease or easement may be required for the boat ramp facility. Pasco County now understands the permitting criteria and thresholds for various permitting levels to better plan the size and capacity of the boat ramp facility to be permittable.
