This 369-space facility, which provides parking primarily for Craig Hospital employees, was designed and constructed of integrally colored precast concrete to mesh with the surrounding neighborhood and buildings. The parking structure serves as a gateway to the Craig Hospital campus and a large sign with the hospital’s logo is mounted on the south façade.
• Identified serious deficiencies in the parking-enforcement program and made specific recommendations for improvement
• All floors accommodate ADA van-accessible parking
• Integrallyn colored and textured architectural precast creates an attractive and durable façade
• A 6,480-square foot maintenance shop and trash-collection area was incorporated into the first tier of the garage, which is designed to be converted into long-term storage in the future
• Glass-enclosed main stairway for improved wayfinding and security
• Excellent openness and lighting
• A “blue-light” security communication system
• Parking access-control system that is integrated with the hospital’s primary security system
