Located in downtown Ithaca, the Green Street parking garage reconstruction project included the restoration of the eastern and western sections of the garage, the demolition of the bridges and helixes and the construction of an internal ramp system in the center section of the garage.
This garage provides parking primarily for shoppers and consists of three levels with possible future vertical expansion to four more levels.
The project is a piece of a larger public/private, mixed use development project with housing that will be located on the south side of Green Street, next to the Tompkins County Public Library. Retail and a movie theatre are located underneath the garage.
• Two-bay, two-way single-thread helix with one flat bay.
• One glass-backed stair/elevator towers.
• Six pedestrian bridges which lead into Ithaca Center Mall
• Cast-in-place; post-tensioned concrete with brick finish.
