WGI worked on three adaptive reuse projects with SHIR Capital (owner) and Pfluger Architects in Austin. Each was an existing hotel that was being converted into affordable housing under Austin’s Affordability Unlocked program. The buildings range from 100 to 200 units and will feature new MEP infrastructure as a part of the renovations. WGI worked with Pfluger and Structures TX to identify creative solutions to convert existing amenity space and atriums into additional dwelling units. WGI worked with local utilities to upgrade existing electrical and water services to meet future demand. Projects are expected to be completed in late 2021.Â
