The WGI team has provided on-going engineering services for the Kiener East Parking Structure. InterPark, LLC. has retained WGI for various roles including condition assessments, structural analysis, repair/rehabilitation programs, corrosion protection, and capital improvement plans.
The Kiener East Parking Garage was constructed in 1965 and is a 9-level structure that functions as a double helix with one-way traffic and angled parking. The central helix ramp functions as the exit ramp. The structure is constructed of cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete slabs and beams, supported by conventionally reinforced concrete columns. The helix ramp is a standard reinforced cast-in-place concrete slabs and beams.
• Full depth concrete replacement at the exposed Roof Level
• Removal of deteriorated post-tension bars and installation new monostrand post-tensioning tendons and hardware including dead end anchors, dogbones, couplers, and tendons
• Design of replacement slab for post-tensioning tendon drape and minimum steel per the ACI code
• Installation of sacrificial anodes at the perimeter of concrete patches
• Joint sealant installation along perimeter of concrete repair patches
• Deck coating installation and recoat applications of the Roof Level
• Concrete and structural steel repairs to the stair systems
• Concrete masonry repairs
• Wall coatings
