Live Oak Brewing Company is one of Austin's oldest craft breweries, specializing in old-world style beers popular in central Europe. When they outgrew their longtime Eastside space and were looking to expand their production capacity, they chose a beautiful site situated along the Colorado River filled with groves of heritage live oak trees.
The 18,000 square foot building, designed by OPA Design Studio, includes a 4,000 square-foot taproom, merchandising area, outdoor biergarten, and children’s play area. WGI provided civil engineering design, site development permitting, and construction services for the project. We worked with the design team and the client to design innovative water quality treatments such as rain gardens that enhance the visitor’s overall experience.
The brewery was completed in 2015 and the new facility was opened to the public in 2016.
