Northside Hospital completed a nine-level horizontal expansion of its existing six-level deck. The original deck was built to serve the increasing needs of hospital staff, outpatients and visitors, particularly those connected to the Women’s Center, whereas the expansion provided parking for hospital employees displaced by the construction of a new medical office building. It was also built in anticipation of an increase in the volume of outpatients and visitors.

An elevated pedestrian bridge connects the original deck directly to the main hospital building. An elevated vehicular bridge connects the original deck to another parking structure that serves the adjacent doctor’s medical office building.
