WGI was selected to design a 211-space parking structure associated with a new 190,000-square-foot office building in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It will also include a 15,000-square-foot child care center and a 508-space surface parking lot on an existing 27-acre federal campus. Design considerations accounted for an area known for extreme temperatures and weather conditions such as tropical storms and hurricanes.

The design incorporates Interagency Security Committee (ISC) Level Four security criteria, including setback, progressive collapse and blast resistance requirements.

The facility will be energy-efficient and will achieve at a LEED Silver rating from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The facility meets specific energy and water conservation goals and utilizes available on-site renewable energy, solar, wind, geothermal and water sources.
