WGI performed an evaluation of the East and West towers facades, including a close-up inspection from suspended scaffolding. We reviewed the current condition of the façade including granite panels, windows, sealants, and gaskets in order to provide an engineering condition appraisal, assess repair and maintenance options, and provide recommendations to minimize future deterioration. While the façade was in generally good condition, widespread leaking was noted.
WGI developed and implemented a repair program with a focus on addressing deteriorating joint sealants and gaskets. Other repairs were performed to address damaged granite panels, copings, and windows.
