Located north of the business district, this 559-space parking structure provides parking for employees and patrons of CNO Financial Group, formerly Pioneer Life Insurance Co., a financial services organization, and local retail and commercial businesses. Responsive architectural design successfully integrates the parking structure and its grade-level commercial space with adjacent buildings. It was later expanded to include two more vertical levels.
This project received the Award of Excellence in Engineering Design Services presented by the City of Rockford.
• Two-bay single-helix system with two-way traffic flow around center lightwell
• One glass-backed stair and elevator tower adjacent to lightwell and one glass backed stair tower
• Cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete long-span beams and slabs
• Architectural precast concrete façade panels
