River of Grass Boundary Surveys

WGI was contracted by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to complete the boundary surveys for the purchase of the 73,000-acre United States Sugar Corporation land holdings. WGI, acting as the Prime Consultant, along with a team of two subconsultant firms, surveyed the land acquisition area comprised of 26 separate boundary surveys. WGI coordinated the project, from historical and legal research covering the past 95 years, to writing descriptions of the lands slated for acquisition, to field work establishing over 2500 survey monuments, to preparing and producing the final surveys. WGI also acted as consultant and liaison between attorneys, title agents, reviewing surveyors and SFWMD for this job. The final deliverable package of boundary surveys consisted of over 160 sheets and spans over three counties.
