Salado Creek Ranch is the redevelopment of a former golf course into a singlefamily development with more than 300 units in San Antonio, Texas. WGI managed all civil engineering services for the development, including, design, permitting, and construction phase services. The work included site planning, cost estimating, and construction coordination as the liaison between the client/owner and the City. WGI coordinated with the City on the master development plan for all four phases of development. WGI also resolved connectivity issues associated with limited access points to the development, with the development bound by established neighborhoods, and floodplains. WGI also reclaimed +/-11.81 acres from the floodplain. WGI facilitated the Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) process and FEMA coordination to modify floodplain limits for this additional development space.
WGI’s team also facilitated general construction permitting for water and sewer development with SAWS. WGI designed water and sanitary sewer infrastructure for a GCP to serve the development at the Salado Creek Ranch near Military Drive and WW White Road. The design included 5,540 linear feet of 8-inch PVC waterlines, including proposed services. Key design elements included utility planning and design, and conflict resolution with an existing 36-inch recycled water main and a 72-inch sanitary sewer interceptor. WGI coordinated with SAWS as the utility provider for the water and sanitary sewer GCP approvals. Challenges resolved during construction included utility connections, improvements adjacent to existing neighborhoods, and limited space near the existing floodplain.
