Travel Centers of America is an industry leader in sustainability and energy infrastructure for transitioning from carbon fuels to electric vehicles nationwide. The Ontario, California project is the first of many projects to adapt their current national footprint with distribution level (18-wheeler) charging stations to power the upcoming transportation innovation. WGI is their chosen partner for engineering for this lofty project and expected expansion across the country. The site will host innovative fleet charging solutions, including 350kW, 500kW, and 1MW charging solutions tied into a microgrid that powers the site’s needs and future growth expectations. WGI provides planning, municipal coordination, grant coordination, site survey scanning, subsurface engineering, traffic planning, traffic analysis, MEP planning, and civil design for the site. The Ontario, CA, site is still being designed, with many more locations in the planning phases.
