Union Deck is part of a series of campus expansion projects at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The deck provides parking for visitors to the Student Union plus adjacent academic buildings and special events at the nearby athletic fields and baseball stadium.
Because of the steep grade on this site, the 1,035-space parking deck was designed as two separate decks stacked on top of one another with an access road created to allow entrance/egress from two segregated areas.
A pedestrian bridge connects the two structures at level six near the elevator and provides quick access to the Student Union.
