University Medical Center El Paso (UMC El Paso) is spread out across El Paso County but is anchored at the main campus at 4815 Alameda Avenue, El Paso. UMC El Paso has roots at this location going back over 100 years. In that time, it has expanded, both services and space, to meet the needs of a growing community in El Paso and greater El Paso County. The main campus employs over 2,640 people throughout several buildings clustered between Alameda Avenue and Alberta Avenue.
UMC El Paso is also the main teaching hospital of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. With the large volume of patients, visitors, staff, students, and residents arriving on campus each day, parking has become an important support service.
UMC El Paso engaged WGI to conduct a parking study to quantify parking supply and demand, review operational procedures, and provide recommendations to enhance the customer experience. Our team conducted parking counts in all facilities, garages, and parking lots, including the Medical Examiners Lot and Psych Center Lots. WGI reviewed parking policy and operations and provided our feedback. All of this information was gathered and analyzed to help UMC El Paso develop a roadmap for delivering excellence for everyone parking on campus.
