WGI performed structural engineering and parking consulting services necessary to develop Design-Build RFP criteria documents for a new 748-space parking structure at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan. The Design-Build RFP documents were brought to the design-development stage, specifying the project’s functional and aesthetic requirements. Access-control equipment allows separate parking areas for staff and visitors. The parking structure was constructed in two separate phases, facilitating a construction staging area for other concurrent projects within the VA Medical Center campus. The future horizontal expansion will increase the parking capacity to nearly 1,500 spaces.
