A-1 Storage Reservoir Boundary and Topographic Survey

Client:
South Florida Water Management District
Market:
Cities and Communities
Location:
Palm Beach County, Florida

Project Details

This survey encompassed 17,000 acres of land on the west side of US 27 in western Palm Beach County. The purpose of the survey was to produce the drawings necessary to facilitate the design and construction of the new storage reservoir needed to serve the current Storm Treatment Areas. The project was specific to gathering topographic features, drainage, rock probes, canal cross-sections, existing levees, and improvements on the site. This work also included transects across the former Talisman Sugar Mill located on the site and a complete boundary survey of the entire parcel.

The project was completed utilizing various specialty equipment, including; GPS, digital leveling, all-terrain vehicles, and conventional surveying, to accomplish the fieldwork over a three-month timeframe. The completed project consisted of a 175-page survey and was delivered on time and within the budget established by the District.
