The City of Delray Beach selected WGI to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for improvements at Venetian Drive and Gleason Street intersections with Atlantic Avenue. The project included replacing the failing paver brick surface with stamped concrete, installing traffic signalization loops, adjusting utilities, and maintaining traffic and public outreach for this highly visible, heavily trafficked corridor connecting the beach to downtown. Coordination was required with the FDOT, Palm Beach County, and the city.
Businesses, residents, and tourists rely on this thoroughfare’s safe and efficient operation. Therefore, a significant effort was focused on informing the public in advance of when and where disruptions due to construction were scheduled and the implementation of safe maintenance of traffic plans for both vehicles and pedestrians. The project was put on hold at the request of the City to eliminate potential impact on business owners, residents, and tourists during the busy holiday season.
