Australian Avenue Widening From Banyan Boulevard to 45th Street

Project Details

This project consists of a study aimed at evaluating Australian Avenue’s widening from a four-lane divided roadway to a six-lane divided urban roadway within the specified limits. The widening and reconstruction being evaluated include adding one additional travel lane in each direction, reconstruction of a curbed median, appropriate storm water management facilities, utility involvement, signing, and pavement marking, raising and reconstruction of two bridges over Clear Lake, and widening of two bridges over the Australian Avenue Canal, signalization improvements, geotechnical analysis, survey, and right-of-way mapping. Alternative typical sections, including maintaining the four-lane divided and adding 4’ paved shoulders, are also considered part of the study.
