Baylor University East Campus Garage

Project Details

This brick and cast-stone clad 1,170-space parking structure is located near the Baylor Sciences Building. Two of the four garage elevations were architecturally enhanced to create a new “corner” of campus. Constructed in a residential portion of campus, the parking structure provides ample parking for commuting students as well as faculty and staff. The ground level of the facility contains a security office.

This project received the Star Award for Best Design/Build Project from QUOIN. It also received an Excellence in Construction Award of Merit from the Associates Builders & Contractors and a Best Design/Build Project Award from the Associated General Contractors of America.

Project Highlights:

• Five-bay single helix with two-way traffic
• Glass-backed elevator tower and two windowed stair towers
• Brick façade with cast-stone elements
• Precast concrete structure with brick-clad, precast concrete vertical wall panes and spandrel panels; drilled pier and grade beam foundation system
