Beachfront at Singer Island

WGI designed a decorative entrance bridge with a gate structure for the Beachfront at Singer Island. The 27-foot-wide by 376-foot-long multi-span access bridge was constructed utilizing prestressed concrete piles, concrete pile caps, and prestressed concrete deck units that are transversely post-tensioned. The access bridge includes bridge pavers with a decorative concrete bridge railing and lighting. A guard/gate building is located at the center of the bridge with access lanes on either side. A single pedestrian sidewalk is located on the north side of the bridge.

WGI staff provided structural design services and construction administration services. Design services included preparation of construction design plans, signed and sealed design calculations, preparation of an engineer’s cost estimate, and oversight of the permit application process. Construction services included observation of the concrete restressing, reinforcement, and concrete placement. Field and prestressed yard observations were completed throughout construction so that final certification could be provided.
