The corner of Bijou and Cascade is a major entryway into downtown from Interstate 25. The prominence of this intersection called for a simple but elegant structure that would not look like a parking garage. Adjacent structure heights and the desire to preserve an unobstructed view of the Rocky Mountains dictated a three-level facility.
This is the third city garage constructed downtown. The other two have been expanded to their maximal capacity, and this 305-space structure increased parking capacity in the Central Business District by about 18 percent.
This 305-space structure received the Award of Excellence for Historically Compatible New Construction from the Colorado Springs Historical Association.
