This project is the first phase of a series of renovations to improve Bill Sadowski Park between infrastructure, site recreation activities, and the nature center educational experience. The scope for this first phase includes a proposed nature-based playground, expansion of the observatory sky pad, and a new multi-use pavilion.Â
Since this project is located within a tropical Hardwood Hammock nature preserve, all the proposed elements are sited outside of the site protection zone of the Nature Preserve to avoid any damage to the natural ecosystem. At the same time, the proposed landscape material is inspired by the Hardwood Hammock ecosystem, and the play experience encourages further exploration of the preserve’s existing trails.Â
