WGI worked with the City of Boulder to prepare a Parking Master Plan as part of the broader Transit Village Area Plan, guiding the long-term development of the 160-acre area centered on Pearl Street between 29th Street and Foothills Parkway. The plans anticipate the changes that will transform the Transit Village over the quarter-century following the study, including the RTD bus transit facility at Depot Square, a station for commuter rail service to Denver and Longmont, new neighborhoods and mixed-use development, and expansion of retail and entertainment at the former Crossroads Mall.
Additionally, the plans support the vision to create a well-loved, pedestrian-oriented place supporting diversity and promoting economic vitality, in part by maximizing access to and use of public transit.
WGI analyzed and recommended data-driven parking ratios for future development. We provided guidance for strategic parking management including, among others, suggestions for:
• Unbundling parking from future development
• Shared parking
• Active parking messaging
• On-street parking management and pricing
• Parking technology and leveraging the data collected
