Boynton Beach Regional Force Main and Lift Station

Client:
City Boynton Beach Utilities Department
Market:
Water & Environment, Water & Wastewater Utility
Location:
Boynton Beach, Florida

Project Details

WGI was responsible for completing all survey, modeling, design, permitting, bid assistance, and construction administration services for a new regional wastewater force main and lift station for the City of Boynton Beach Utilities Department. This regional lift station serves 30% of the City’s users; intercepts flow, and alleviates the excess capacity on an existing regional lift station. The force main provides an alternate force main to the existing 36-inch force main along Congress Avenue and Ocean Avenue. Included in the project were several jack and bore and directional bore crossings under Interstate 95, the CSX and FEC Railroads, and several major drainage canals.

Project Highlights:

  • 20,700 LF of 24-inch Force Main
  • 3,500 LF of 16-inch Force Main
  • 1 Regional Wastewater Pump Station
  • Initial Condition: Triplex Pumps Rated at 1,150 gpm, 47 hp
  • Ultimate Proposed Condition: Triplex Pumps Rated at 3,000 gpm, 160 hp
  • Stand-By 70 hp Diesel Fueled Generator Package with Simplex Pumps with Alternate Design Consideration
