WGI provided site planning and geospatial services for the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County. The site is 9.75 acres, located in Delray Beach on the northeast corner of SW 17th Avenue and SW 7th Street. The main objective for this project was to enhance the existing amenities and facility by adding a new two-story Teen Center to expand recreation space and strengthen community usage of the site. Within the design, parking spaces were added along the south side of the property to support the building’s addition and improve circulation.
This property is uniquely positioned within a larger recreation ground known as Catherine Strong Park. The surrounding neighborhood is considered an impoverished community comprised of residential, industrial, and vacant land uses. The development falls within the realm of the Delray Beach Community Revitalization Area (CRA) whose objectives encourage the prosperity and wellness of the surrounding neighborhood.
