Cape Canaveral Economic Development Element

Project Details

The City of Cape Canaveral contracted WGI, Inc. to produce the city's first economic development element. Work consisted of holding an in-person open house for residents, conducting both in-person and virtual interviews with city leaders and developing a virtual survey for business owners. The economic development element was designed to align with the city's current comprehensive plan to provide understanding for both residents and decision makers regarding Cape Canaveral's direction for the future.  

Key themes for this project included exploring both citizen and leadership perspectives on the economic outlook for Cape Canaveral. These included retaining city character while exploring intentional growth, creating a sense of place, and leveraging growing tech industries.
