WGI has provided engineering services for the City of Butler since 1992. We have conducted a review of the deck every 3-5 years to assess the condition and provide recommendations for repair.Â
We performed a comprehensive condition appraisal and repair options analysis of the structure, severely damaged from corrosion, with 20% of the supported slab delaminated. The deteriorated metal deck made it necessary to select a full slab removal and replacement restoration alternative. The new concrete slab received a traffic-bearing membrane to provide a watertight system. WGI sequenced the restoration to maintain a safe parking environment. The use of parking during construction was maintained at 75% of the total capacity.Â
Additional repairs have included concrete floor repairs, joint sealants, deck coating, and warranty repairs.
