WGI conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and Phase 2 contamination testing of this 155-acre parcel. The property was the former site of wastewater treatment plant from the early 1970s to 2008 and also had a shooting range from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. Due to metals from the gun range, contamination was an issue and soil was removed in early 2015. WGI found the previous contamination assessments and remediation to be incomplete and conducted additional soil sampling. WGI mapped the location of remaining bullets in the shooting range berm and coordinated removal of additional soil.
In addition to the contamination assessment, WGI delineated wetlands and led the wetland permitting. WGI mapped habitats and performed reconnaissance for protected species, including a search for gopher tortoises using our FWCauthorized Gopher Tortoise Agents. WGI also conducted a tree inventory and verified the site does not contain historical or archaeologicial resources.
