Daycare Tia in City of Apex

Client:
Owlet Learning Development LLC
Market:
Cities and Communities
Location:
City of Apex, North Carolina

Project Details

Located on the corner of Hwy 64 and Acton Street, this development is envisioned as a daycare with 10,000 square feet. WGI was contracted to prepare a TIA to determine the impacts of the proposed daycare on the surrounding transportation network and recommend mitigations to site-created traffic problems, if necessary. The 10th Edition of the Institute of Transportation Engineer’s Trip Generation Manual was used to generate daily and peak hour trip estimates. WGI modeled adjacent intersections, including a few along Hwy 64, a super street per North Carolina DOT classification system. The intersections along this excellent street presented an opportunity for some unique modeling in Synchro to reflect operating conditions. WGI also evaluated the need for turn lanes for the site project driveway. Through the review process, WGI worked closely with the Town review staff to ensure an efficient review process. As a result, TIA was reviewed and approved in less than three months resulting in significant time savings for the client.
