A fast-growing suburban hospital, Deaconess Gateway is the leading healthcare provider in the area. Initially a wide-open campus with plenty of land area, the medical center has grown steadily to include the main hospital and numerous other medical office buildings. The campus is now denser, and parking and mobility needs cannot be solved by paving new parking areas.
The medical center has made numerous operational changes over the years to promote access and ease of use. Even with the introduction of a campus shuttle and valet parking, there were still barriers for patients, visitors, and staff. WGI developed a Parking Master Plan, including structured parking, enhanced valet, staff parking allocation plans, and other options to accommodate future growth for the landlocked campus. Deaconess implemented the operational changes and completed a parking structure construction, simplifying how patients arrive at their destination and allowing greater access throughout the campus.
• Future parking demand projections to right-size a parking structure
• Development of valet parking operations
• Identification of potential off-campus sites for enhanced employee shuttle programming
• Five and ten year parking structure locations to facilitate the Campus Master Plan
• Patient and staff parking allocation plan to provide confidence in patient parking needs
