Since 2011, WGI has assisted the Downtown Dadeland Master Association and its stakeholders with numerous iterations of structural engineering condition assessments and the design of repair to the Dadeland Complex plaza system and underground parking structure. Engineering assessments were completed to determine structural and waterproofing issues with the plaza system and underground parking structure. Several work items were identified stemming from inadequate detailing in the original construction, deferred maintenance, and typical aging of structural and waterproofing items, some of which were implemented into repair projects.Â
Items incorporated into repair programs include but are not limited to:Â
Plaza level (expansion joint systems, supplemental floor drains, new concrete transitions, paver repairs, and epoxy injection)Â
Parking Structure Repairs (supported slab spall repairs, slab-on-grade spall repairs, decking on garage ramp and stair towers, epoxy injection, rout and seal cracks, new floor drain piping, concrete curbs, joint sealants replacement, corroded steel elements, and clean and painting)Â
