Founded in 1914, Mary Elizabeth Hospital came to be known as Raleigh Community Hospital. In 1998, Duke Health acquired and renamed the hospital Duke Raleigh-Area Hospital, since Duke Health has invested more than $100 million on-campus and hospital. Raleigh’s suburban 28-acre campus offers a 184-bed hospital, seven Medical Office Buildings (MOBs), and three self-parking garages. The hospital is undergoing significant expansion and renovation to increase the total bed count and increase the services provided by the campus buildings.
Since 2017, WGI has provided extensive design, planning, restoration, and general parking consulting services to Duke Health over multiple projects. Through these projects, WGI has been able to assist the client with:
• Developing strategic parking plans for the campus by understanding the feasibility of adding parking structures at various places on campus
• Increasing parking inventory through re-design of striping plans for existing facilities
• Planning for campus construction and emergency department traffic and parking
• Maintaining existing facilities through continued renovations and repairs to the facilities
At WGI, we creatively transform how our world is envisioned, designed, and experienced. Our expert team of professional engineers is ready to help.
