WGI partners with White & Smith, ktcPLAN, and ATCS to provide on-call zoning ordinance support under a continuing service contract with Fairfax County. Our comprehensive team advises the County’s Department of Planning and Development (DPD) staff on various projects on an as-needed basis relating to the Zoning Ordinance Work Program (ZOWP). The ZOWP serves as a strategic guide for zoning updates.
We pride ourselves on the ability to adapt and respond to the needs as presented by the County’s DPD staff and provide timely, innovative, and diligent responses to planning and zoning-related tasks. Part of our ability to remain agile is our involvement in furthering thought leadership and being on the cutting edge of best practices. Some potential zoning ordinance topics for review include parking, signs, accessory living units, affordable housing, air and noise, resilience, and floodplains.
