WGI performed an ASCE 38-02 Quality Level B utility investigation on this project to assist in demolishing a 54-year-old student housing complex at Florida A&M University (FAMU). The client awarded WGI this contract for our quick mobilization efforts as demolition had already begun and with all older facilities, an abundance of underground utilities existed within the project area. GPS and magnetic locators were utilized to ensure the majority of the active utilities remained undisturbed. Steam lines, chilled water lines, gas lines, sanitary sewer lines, communications lines, and electric lines are just a few examples of the underground utilities that exist on this site.Â
